Step 1：瀏覽句意，找出主結構：“There are no hard and fast conventions.” (沒有嚴格及穩固的慣例)。
補充：
convention n. 大會、協定、習俗、慣例 (always)
They will hold a national convention in Taipei next Monday.
他們將在下週一在臺北舉行全國代表大會。
Both countries agreed to sign the convention.
這兩國都同意簽署這項協定。
By convention, the bride's father gives her away at her wedding.
按照習俗，新娘的父親在婚禮上把她交給新郎。
Step 2：介係詞片語“about the right and wrong clothes to wear at a party”(關於該穿什麼衣服去參加舞會的對錯)當形容詞，修飾名詞“convention”。合併之後→該穿什麼衣服去參加舞會，對錯沒有嚴格及穩固的慣例。
(A) 在舞會中，沒有快速裝扮自己的方法。
